about

“Maximus” is a 2014 live album release from North Bay instrumental trio Jason Bodlovich Group(JBG). These recordings took place over a two year span of stellar shows during 2012 & 2013 at Lagunitas Brewery in Petaluma CA. “Maximus” is the second installment of JBG live albums beginning with “Live At Lagunitas” released in 2012. Half of the eleven original compositions are new with several written for Lagunitas beers including the title track Maximus, Imperial Black, New Dogtown, and Pilsology. The other half features exciting new live renditions of selected tunes from JBG’s back catalog. San Francisco drummer James Stafford and Petaluma bassist Steve Froberg provide a solid backdrop throughout with Sonoma drummer Owen Barrett stepping in for the track Zonin’. “Maximus” highlights Bodlovich’s distinctive guitar sound featuring plenty of Fender Telecaster twang, wah wah saturated funk and soulful expression. Styles include funkrock, blues, gypsy & western swing, Latin and more. “Maximus” captures the live experience of JBG and is sure to make you groove. Cheers!
